Response To The Grammy's

Well, Like most people last night I laid down in my bed and watched the Grammy awards. I'm big music lover and even though these big award shows tend to be political and the best acts rarely win, I watched to see my favorite artists. I watched as my favorite band, U2 give a great opening performance of their new single, "Get On Your Boots".

I also loved Coldplay's performance. They performed "Lost" with Jay-Z and "Viva La Vida". I was actually surprised that they did Viva La Vida with all of the controversy with their plagiarism lawsuit by Joe Satriani. Here's the video:

For the first time I actually thought the awards except for two awards. I thought that best rap should have went to anyone but Lil Wayne. Tha Carter 3 was a disaster in my opinion. It never lived up to the hype and it had only a couple of good songs. Lil Wayne's rapping on the record, while unique, was trash. His rhymes were all over the place and barely made any sense. Just because you can take two words that mean the exact opposite and make them rhyme, doesn't make you the greatest rapper alive. It should have went to Nas, Lupe Fiasco or Hova.

The next award that had my underwear in a bunch was the highly coveted, Record of the Year. The award went to Robert Plant. Bullshit. You mean the award went to the people who just performed one of the most boring songs I have ever heard? The Grammy's always do this with record of the year. They always give it to someone who is either dead or somewhat of a legend. It doesn't matter if it's a good record or not. The award should have went to Coldplay, Ne-yo or Radiohead.
